The Year Without A Blog Post

Well hello guys, yes I'm actually still here! I realize I haven't done a post since, well February. So now I wanted to talk about all the things I have been doing for the last nine months.

A month or so after I wrote that post about Minecraft, I bought it and I played it from that time forward. I had fun playing it all almost hours of the day, and I still continued to watch my favorite Minecrafter videos. Three months later it was my birthday! It was really great. I got Portal 2 and a new camera for making movies!

After eating my cake (that was a lie), I hooked my laptop up to the TV and played Portal 2 so my family could watch. It overall, was an EPIC birthday of video games and videos, and of course I had to have a little time to play Minecraft afterwards. Plus, seven days after my birthday we adopted two adorable guinea pigs!

Also in May, we auditioned for a choir, and we got in!

So a few months later, the hot and sunny summer was rounding the corner and my sister and I were going to camp! My first day started like any other day, no one knew what Unschooling was, therefore they ignored it and went on to assume I meant Homeschooling. That basically continued the whole five weeks I was there. Although it took getting used to being around teens who would throw their lunch at one another, I still otherwise had fun swimming and challenging myself by doing the flying squirrel and getting lifted 45ft in the air! I also had fun doing specialty groups at camp were I took a World of Water: How to SCUBA Dive class and I got to go to a local water park. But soon it was somehow already almost over, so it was cool a few weeks later, when at the end of camp, I was given the Counselor Award for being like a 3rd counselor to our group!

After the last day of camp we had only five days until Northeast Unschooling Conference.

Once it was time to go down to NEUC, Hurricane Irene was almost here, so we had to drive down to Massachusetts in a downpour. Once we were there we talked to a some friends we knew from the past year and we go to know new people, too! Once the conference had officially started,
we stayed up late to watch a movie marathon, and the next day we played Werewolves of Millers Hollow.

Here are some pictures of the conference (photos by my mom.)

so let's play more Werewolves

On the last day of the conference we played Werewolves ALL DAY and stayed up until 4:00 am! It was really fun. The next day there was a closing announcement and then there was a picnic in Salem, so we went there and said our goodbyes and also took this group photo.

Sadly, not everyone was included due to some having to go home to check on their house a day early because of Irene. But anyway, it was very fun but it was also good to go home and get a good 12 hour rest.

Pretty soon the Common Ground Country Fair was on its way! In a few weeks it was time to drive up to my grandparent's house which is where we would stay for the Fair weekend. The next day we got up had our coffee and the set out to the fair. Here are some pictures!

We also volunteered at the Country Store the next day! I took customer orders for what color and size of shirt and went and got it.

We volunteered the next day, too. It was really fun and the manager said we were one of the best groups he had had so we helped take down the tent and put all the extra shirts away. It was fun to walk around, have great food, meet with friends and help out.

At the end of September we started choir which has been really fun, and we are going to have a concert this December! Also before I forget, Halloween! It was awesome! I made a whole Minecraft costume and it turned out great (plus I got a bunch of loot.)

Here is a photo of me with my friend Noah!

So now this is present day and I've been having fun with guinea pigs and playing tons of Minecraft! I also have been saving up for a thing called Fraps which is a screen recorder so I can record myself, my sister and my friend, Noah playing Minecraft, and maybe make a whole series! Well anyway, now you are caught up with my life and I hopefully will be doing posts more often :D

Minecraft Galore!

Minecraft, if you haven't heard of it well...

doot-do-doo-dooo!

Basically it's a game of building blocks, almost like Legos but not exactly.
There is a day and night with a nice touch of Zombies Spiders and Creepers (oh my!)
It is not just flat plains but mountains up in the clouds, giant caverns and vast oceans.
Here is a funny music video showing you Minecraft :D

There is so much to explore and build and there is nothing stopping you... except maybe for the arrow-firing skeletons.

The hardest part of Minecraft is one thing... surviving your first night, and if you have a problem with that you should watch this series.

Oh and if you go to their website and make a user, you can play the beta single player for free! I haven't bought the full version yet but I know it's awesome.

Hey wait... its January!

Hello people of the world and other various life forms,I know I haven't posted since October but now I'm going to sum up what I have been doing:

This December my sister and I were singing with The Magic of Christmas, and it was super awesome! my mom took a video of are choir's rehearsal,

It was cool getting to sing with the Magic Of Christmas... but very tiring.
There was a total of eleven shows and two shows almost each day, but as I said it was very cool.

Also before the crazy holiday season my friend Noah and I made an epic battle of two wizards, and only the first parts out but anyway...

So as you can see I have been working with effects more, I mostly have been making effects photos which is really fun so for an example

Those are some of the things I have been making, and in other things CHRISTMAS!

Okay first off it... was ... AWESOME, I got some really cool things and one of the coolest things I got was Fxhome CompositeLab Pro!

My Christmas was great and I got allot of awesome video games, Star Wars The Force Unleashed 2! And my sister and I got...

It is so epic and so fun to play with my family, and I have been having fun playing and doing all this stuff since November. so that's a piece of what i have been doing. Oh and HAPPY delayed NEW YEAR

Ocderper...Derp!

Dude! It's end of October already and where have I been, huh? Welp, not here obviously so I'm fixing that now. Can I just say, Halloween?! Almost here. Cool. I'm going as a secret agent dude and there's the homeschool party on Saturday night, too. Awesome. My friend Noah and I plan on trick or treating in our town. Sweet. Get it? Sweet?

Oh and because it's almost Samhain (Halloween), we've been watching scary movies. So far I've seen Alien and Aliens, Jaws (die shark, die!!!) Amityville Horror (not so scary) and this, which I really liked.

So, a month ago, we were at the fair. It was really awesome, especially because we met up with a bunch of other unschoolers we met at the unschooling conference in August and my sister and I hung out with them, mostly on Friday. My favorite things this year about the fair were (photos from my mom):

hanging out with friends and roaming the fair!old friends
chillin'
the gang

Pie Cones!

End of last month I attended this lab at GofMERI about lobsters. My friend Noah went, too, so that made it even more fun.

I've also been enjoying the biology labs on Thursdays and the Intro to the Holocaust on Thursday nights. I just finished Maus.

Oh yeah, and teen meet-ups, those are fun.

I've been in extra rehearsals, with my sister, Olivia, for the PSO in addition to choir. We'll be singing at the Magic Of Christmas in something like twelve performances, so it's busy around here.

My mom took this when Noah was over. Derp.

Speaking of derps.

And...OMGHARRYPOTTER(HP7)COMESOUTNOV19! See the trailer here. I just finished all the books up to the fifth one, which I just started. Not sure I'll get them all read by the time the movie is out. I mean, I've had them all read to me and I've listened to them all on cd a billion times, but I've enjoyed reading them to myself, too.

Here's my latest YouTube update.

Speaking of YouTube, they used this song in Scott Pilgrim and it's my current favorite.

When I went to Acadia recently with my family, Olivia and I did some filming, but I haven't finished editing that yet.

action packed adventure for all

Earlier this week, I went to the graveyard gathering with other unschoolers, which was a lot of fun, and took these.

Lady Gaga and New Titles

Two days ago my mom, sister and I went to the Lady Gaga rally in Deering Oaks Park. The rally was to repeal Don't Ask Don't Tell. I took this video when she arrived.

Here's the whole speech from the rally.

And this is her before speech.

So that's cool.

Also, I have been using Fxhome lately and I made this,

Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid.

We seem to be made to suffer. It's our lot in life. ~C-3PO

It's not that I'm exactly suffering, but it hasn't been happy-happy-joy-joy for me lately, either. Don't get me wrong, going to the Northeast Unschooling Conference with my family was awesome, and just what I needed, given the way this summer has been. What to tell you, Interwebs? Let's just say things got not so good there, with a now ex-friend. Yeah.

Uh, we had a slight weapons malfunction, but uh... everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here now, thank you. How are you? ~Han Solo

So, moving on. Like I said, the unschooling conference was Epic. Read more about it here. One of the coolest things was just being able to hang out with a bunch of unschooling kids for four days. It was really fun playing this game called Werewolves with a big group of kids. I didn't get to bed until 3am, one time-that's how fun Werewolves is.
